Lil stinker!

I know this story will be a repeat for some, but I wanted to write it down so I could remember it! Bennett runs up to the carpet cleaner guy and says: "Look I got ouchies" Carpet cleaner guy: "Oh no what happened?" Bennett: "Mommy hit me!" What the heck, good thing it was a hangnail and not very believeable! What a turkey, I am sure in trouble when he gets older. Hopefully people don't believe everything he says.

LOVE!

I just received a CD from my mom with some real gems on it! My talented cousin Ashley Bennett did a photo shoot of my kids and I am absolutely in love! If you are wanting to get some pictures done and live in SoAb give her a call, she is amazing! Check out her fb page: Ashley Bennett Photography & Design. Thanks again Ash! Now which ones should I get blown up? So hard to choose.

Panorama

A few weeks ago we went on a little getaway with Melvin's co-workers to Panorama. We dropped Bennett off at Nancy's and headed to the mountains. We stayed in the most beautiful place on the the mountain. Some of the highlights were:
-Playing Indiana Jones pinball and Pac Man arcade games
-Skiing on Friday, but man my body does not do the same things it used to
-Melvin making me go down 3 black diamonds and having a break down in the middle of the hill
-Watching Melvin trip over his poles and biffing it
-The steaks that Scott cooked up for us, they were to die for!
-Taking Andie to the hot pools, she could have played in there all day
-Hot tubbing at night, and after skiing
-TJ discussing the amount of money it would take to eat his own poop. 1 million dollars, I have already started fund raising!
-I really just enjoyed spending time with Melv!

* Last year when we went out to eat on our Panorama trip Melissa found a hot screw in her club sandwich, one of the funniest/scary/weird things I have ever seen!
* Thanks for a great weekend Getaway Tom, we had a fantastic time, can't wait until next year!

I'm a big kid now!

It is official, Bennett is potty trained or has been for over a month....HOORAY! What did this entail for us, a butt load of trips to the potty, stickers, cars, accidents, laundry and crying, but now there are no more stinky diapers, from him at least; so worth it. After trying out lots of different motivators (gum ball machine, ice cream, candies;) the Cars characters were the actual lifesaver for learning to go #2 and if he got 20 stickers for going #1 he got nuggets and fries, another one of his favorite things! He also love to sing the "Do the potty dance," song and read books on the toilet, also running around in the buck for few days seemed to help too! I am so proud of him, nothing is more cute than a toddler running around with little undies on! Life is much easier now that he can hold it longer than 10 minutes too whew! On a side note Uncle Tate watched Bennett last week while we went on a sister's night out, Bennett hadn't had an accident in weeks, but he decided it would be funny to pull off his ginch and pee all over her brand new carpet installed a week ago. I was surprised he was still alive when I got back! Just kidding Tate didn't even get that mad, but I sure felt horrible. What a little TURKEY! Did you know salt is one of the best things to de-odourize a carpet, a little tidbit Tate taught us, who would have thunk eh? Sorry Nancy and Tate I will continue to feel horrible until one of your kids does likewise!

Skating in the backyard!

This year Melvin decided Bennett needed his own ice rink in the backyard! Melvin put a lot of TLC to that rink, almost to the point that jealousy was brewing inside of me because of all the attention it was getting. Bennett was in heaven and loved to be out there, he would try skating for a bit, but he loved to sit on top of the net while Melvin shot some pucks on the tutor shooter. Melvin talked about all the things he would change and do different next year on the rink, oh great it is like he needs the ice to be the same as Rexall's, look out! The YM in the ward even helped him build his own little zamboni.

I can't believe we are still married!

I am kidding, I am so grateful to be Melvin's wife! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary on February 17th! Man does time fly. On our anniversary we went out to a restaurant called the "Dish," it wasn't my fave, but it did have a really cool jazz band playing while we ate. Afterwards we played a little mini golf to end the night, and hit up an Oilers game a couple days later nothing to crazy! Melv is a pretty amazing friend, husband and father, if there was no such thing as hockey and golf I am sure we would never fight, hahah. I am a pretty lucky lady to have scored such a catch. For our anniversary I made Melvin a book called Remember when... which had as many funny and cute memories that we have had so far, and planned a date a month for the rest of the year, it should be fun to try new date ideas that we have never done! My favorite thing about our anniversary was looking back on the last five years to see how much we have accomplished together. I graduated and started my first teaching job, Melvin has worked for 2 companies, we bought our first house, had 2 kids, went on my first airplane ride, travelled to Mexico, Cayman Islands, Hawaii, got a dog. All of that in just 5 years WOW! I'd say we have lived a pretty awesome life together so far, I can't wait to see what the future holds!
ughg stupid iPhone pictures are so blurry.
