What the heck!!!

So last week I went in for a massage that Melvin booked for my anniversary gift! I was totally excited about it...My massage therapists starts asking about my medical history...no big deal, after talking for about 5 minutes she says:

"So what nationality are you...?"
I pause for a second not knowing how to respond and kinda give her a weird look, then she goes on to say,
"Well I was just wondering because your accent sounds Swedish." In my mind I am thinking what the heck?
So I sheepishly respond, "no I am English!" which was followed by,
"Oh then you must be excited about this big Royal Wedding going on and the new couple coming to visit Canada!"

How do you respond to that....I was just like yeah kinda exciting and in my mind I am thinking...why didn't I respond "Canadian!" IDIOT! I didn't really talk the rest of the appointment. hahahah

Do I mumble that bad that people think I have a European accent?" -Dad please don't answer that question for me...I already know your thoughts. Really Swedish? common lady.

I told my sister the story and she said,
"well maybe your voice was a little muffled by the pillow"....unfortunately I was still fully clothed sitting in a chair, but thanks for trying to make me feel better.

Picking each other apart!

Since love is in the air this week, because it was Valentine's Day and my anniversary, I found this to be a very fitting blog post!

-Lately I think I have been driving Melvin nuts with my moodiness/neediness- give me a break I am pregnant! Here are some things that have been driving him up the wall...

"Ughgh stop squeezing the toothpaste from the middle, it drives me crazy...squeeze from the bottom up, how hard can that be?"
"Are you going to get dressed today?"
"Are you going to make supper today?"
"Get your cold feet off of me."
"No I will not play Dutch Blitz or Blockus with you...I hate playing games!"

He also has been teasing me a lot lately for example...when we were in Arizona we ate at this fabulous Pizza Place called Grazie's; I loved the pizza, but I loved the dessert even more! Melv and I decided we would share a dessert, no big deal! The dessert was a calzone type of thing with chocolate, bananas whip cream and icecream....to die for really! While eating the dessert Melvin burst out laughing so hard, after waiting for him to stop laughing and explain he said... " Wow Kay, I have never met anyone as passionate about food as you, when you take a bite, you already have eyed up the next piece and are cutting before you have even finished the first one!" Boom now I am totally self conscious about eating! Hate to admit it, but it was completely true, I by no means am a slow eater and I love food!

-Now let me tell you Melvin is not that much of a negative person and I may be only hearing what I want to hear these days!
-While thinking about all these things lately I have been really trying to find things that drive me crazy about him or something that I could mock him about and I haven't had much luck besides my usual boring complaints like:

"Ughgh another hockey game tonight?"
"Sports centre highlights for the third time tonight? Really?

Then Wham I got one!

The other night we were watching Brad Womack (The Bachelor) work his magic with the ladies...It was during a scene where Brad was kissing one of the chicks passionately, during this scene, I looked over at Melvin only to see him mimicking the lips of Brad Womack, contorting them in all different ways as if he was in fact kissing this woman. I about died laughing and immediately Melvin knew why and turned a little red...Should I be worried that my husband lives vicariously through reality t.v shows? Nah It is just one thing I can constantly tease him about! Finally I have found something! Sheeesh just gotta love that guy...Happy 4 years Melv! Love you.

-Sorry for airing our dirty laundry!

Big Brother!

Alan is my big brother, growing up he tortured me on a regular basis. He bribed me to do his dishes and clean his room and most of the time he didn't even end up paying me! He always cheated at monopoly by being the banker and he always hogged the t.v. and nintendo! On road trips he would tighten my seatbelt against my neck and make me squawk. I always had to clean his dingy bathroom because he wasn't very good at it. Fortunately the good outweighs the bad; he is the best person to go to a movie with (especially comedies), his laugh always makes the show that much more funny. His dance moves are unreal, he is pretty smart and can beat me at any trivia or strategic board game. In high school he would take me out to Yotee's and even pay; He even had cute friends come over all the time, which I loved! To this day Alan is definitely one of my favorite people to be around, when he is around, everyone is laughing and entertained. I don't know a soul who doesn't enjoy him. I just love my big brother!

That is why I am so excited for Bennett to be a big brother! Yes it is true, I am due the 7th of July! I am positive he will torture his little sibling, (remember I am one of those annoying people who don't like to find out what I am having...deal with it), but I am sure the good will only outweigh the bad! I know Bennett will make a great big brother!

So I decided to tell Melvin baby #2 was on its way by sending Bennett out in this t-shirt...his response was, "When does Big Brother start?" hmmm I thought he was a little slow until I told my family the same way, my dad said, "uhghg Big Brother, I hate that show!" Everybody else seemed to pick up on the exciting news right away!

Yesterday I had my ultrasound and it took forever, I tried to convince the Tech to tell Melvin we were expecting twins, but the Tech didn't think my idea was very funny. All in all we are pretty excited to be adding another little bundle of joy to our family!

Babe in Boots!

Bennett has a few new obsessions lately:
-He uses the word "OW" a bajillion times a day, he is becoming a sissy
-He carries his blankie all around the house
-He loves to feed Tucker all day long
-He loves his little tikes car, as soon as you say "Beep Beep" he will run and get into it as fast as he can
-He tells everyone they are stinky and plugs his nose at the same time (the other day he had a poopy diaper, I asked him if he was stinky, he shook his head no and then said, "Tucker stinky!"
-He will steal anybody's shoes at the door and wear them around the house, especially if they are boots!
